About Attorney Karl F. Von Reuter

Attorney Karl F. von Reuter has had an interest in representing injured workers for many years. After graduating from Rutgers University in New Jersey in 1988 with a degree in Philosophy, he studied law at Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, receiving his Juris Doctor in 1995. Having been raised in a working-class environment and having worked with labor unions in the former East Germany, attorney von Reuter brings a unique background and viewpoint to his law practice. He currently lives in Minneapolis and serves clients in the Twin Cities and outstate Minnesota areas.

While in law school, attorney von Reuter clerked as an intern at the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry and as a law clerk for workers’ compensation judges at the Office of Administrative Hearings. After graduating from law school in 1995, he immediately entered private law practice, exclusively representing employees in workers’ compensation cases.

About Our Firm

Workers’ compensation benefits may be difficult to understand while experiencing the stress of a work-related injury. Unpaid medical bills, medical restrictions impairing the ability to work, and maintaining communication with the insurance company or employer may all add to the difficulties of understanding and obtaining benefits to which you are entitled. Numerous laws and regulations govern the payment of lost wage benefits, medical benefits, retraining benefits, and permanent partial disability benefits. Minnesota workers’ compensation law changes from time to time, and the law in effect on the date of injury will govern the injured worker’s benefits.

Attorney Karl von Reuter listens to his clients carefully to determine which law applies to his client’s case. He assists injured workers when the injury is temporary and may involve limited benefits. Attorney von Reuter also assists injured workers in more complex claims that may involve multiple injury dates, resulting in a permanent inability to work in a chosen vocation or an inability to work at all. Having a thoughtful conversation about the unique circumstances of an individual’s situation is the starting point in assessing entitlement to benefits.

Attorney von Reuter prides himself on personally handling all his own cases and not delegating representation to other attorneys. He always counsels his clients but encourages the client to make the ultimate decision.
